Russian Studies

Minor

The minor in Russian consists of 17 units in Russian to include Russian 110, Russian 200B, Russian 301 or 311 and six units of upper division courses in Russian. Russian Minor Student


Student Learning Outcomes

Students will communicate effectively in spoken and written Russian in the range of Intermediate-Mid to Advanced level in accordance with the ACTFL Proficiency Guidelines.

Students will read and comprehend a variety of texts at the Intermediate-high/ Advanced level, understanding connected discourse on unfamiliar subjects.

Students will be able to identify some major cultural figures, works, and movements from the Russian speaking world, appreciate its influences on American and world culture, as well compare and contrast histories and cultures of the target language with their own cultures.
