Language Requirement for the B.A. Degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences
Students electing German to fulfill the language requirement for the bachelor of arts degree must complete three semesters of German or the equivalent level of achievement. The usual sequence of coursework for students without prior knowledge of German is German 100A, 100B, and German 202 or 205A. Students with prior knowledge of German may take a placement test to enter the language program at the appropriate level. Refer to the section on “Graduation Requirements” in the SDSU catalog for additional ways to demonstrate competency.
